Burofocus is a legal consulting bureau on the 37 square mile island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean, established under the laws of the Netherlands Antilles. The firm was established in 1996 by its founder and Managing Director, Dr. Nilda Arduin. Dr Arduin is a multidisciplinary lawyer with a doctorate in Science of Law and a vision focused on achievement, in the broadest sense of the word.
Our clientele range from a local, regional and international cross-section and include private persons, corporations and other legal entities, governments, and NGO’s (Non Governmental Organizations)

Our mission is formalized into the Burofocus Pledge, a pledge enumerating the guiding principles of our firm. Burofocus is co-sponsor and contributor to a television production, The Law in Focus. The Law in Focus is a weekly program presenting issues pertaining to the laws of the Netherlands Antilles, and aimed at creating legal consciousness among the people of St. Maarten and surrounding islands, as well as the population of the Netherlands Antilles in general.
